Three Way Threat
Debut: 2 million+ viewers
Integrated Brand: Playstation, MTV
Delivered: Concept, Executive Production, and talent negotiation with White. Responsible for a $1.1 million P&L budget. Assisted MTV Sales team in securing Playstation.
Growing up in Orange County, my friends and I would race up to the San Bernadino mountains to snowboard in the morning then race back down to catch the evening glass off in Newport Beach. Still not done, we would skateboard late into the night in an empty pool around the corner.
Years later, I pitched MTV on an action sports triathalon. The ace in my hand was an exploding skate and snow phenom named Sean White. I had cajoled his management (then at IMG) that this was a perfect showcase for him and his new Playstation title. In addition, Playstation was launching new surfing and skateboard titles and "3 Way Threat" was a perfect fit.
In one segment, Shaun and the other athletes - including snowboard legend turned ESPN commentator, Todd Richards as well as Olympic gold medalist, Hannah Teter - competed on the new console games using their own avatars.
COMCAST ON DEMAND
Metro Magazine TV
Integrated Brands: Minnesota Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, Wild, Mall of America and the Walker Art Center among many other local businesses.
Delivered: Executive Production, Episode Writing, Cross Promotional Business Development. 24 episodes.
Looking to leverage our Twin Cities Metro Magazine content, I put in place a cross promotional strategy with local on demand channel provider, Comcast. Hosted by writer Scott Schnweis, special features from the monthly glossy were brought to TV. Twice a month, METRO would suggest the best things to do, places to go, and charity benefits to support.
Central to the strategy was content featuring each of the three professional franchises in the market. Interviews with players, coaches and owners as well as behind the scenes pieces drove METRO TV to be the highest downloaded content of the Comcast local on demand offerings.
"MEAN GENE" OKERLUND - Radio Pilot
Integrated Brands: WWE
Delivered: Creative Direction, Writing / Production, and supervision for half hour pilot featuring Mr. Okerlund.
World Wrestling Entertainment icon, "Mean Gene" Okerlund was heading into new contract negotiations and wanted to bring something new to the table. I suggested a syndication arrangement with the WWE that would feature his own brand in a wrestling sports news format. Guest interviews from WWE plot lines and PPV specials as well as true-life injury and contract updates on the players. The Pro Wrestling Report was born and is now a You Tube Channel with over 26,000 subscribers.
